FOREIGN POLICY
The four levers of national power are Diplomacy, Information, Military and Economy (DIME). The Military is the last resort when all else fails. The Biden administration has been feckless in all aspects of DIME and now we need a strong military to keep pace with countries that could threaten our national security. That means developing new technologies in order to remain competitive.
▪Virginia is the home of defense technology development. Fifteen years of Continuing Resolutions have limited our ability to keep pace with China and Russia in technological innovation.
▪With four years in the Pentagon defining requirements and budgeting for next generation equipment for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, I understand the restraints placed on the military defense industry when Congress is unable to pass a budget on time.
A strong national defense can and should also mean vibrant economic development. Good jobs in research, development, testing, manufacturing, all right here in Virginia.
